The theory of eating an animal that "died from natural causes" is flawed to me.  You wouldn't eat your dog if he died from old age because there is nothing else to do with him, nor would you do the same with a human.  And simply saying that cooking the animal well enough will take care of it is a misconception.  You can still pick up illness from dead animals through blood and fecal matter that contaminates the meat, no matter how long you cook it.
Plus, have you ever eaten years old meat?  That's why farmers slaughter animals so early in life--the meat is still tender.

But back on the subject of bringing pets.  I wouldn't be able to bring my parrot.  Exotic birds wouldn't be able to survive the outdoors of Iowa and need a controlled environment.

Oh, I replied to this in convo, not in thread.

Anywho, if we do it right, we might be able to manage climate control with our wind generators, seeing as how we'll be underground and need less energy and will have better insulation. We may be able to have exotics.

And I'll want my gliders...

Sugar gliders.

Although exotic glides to fly on, like a ultralight, might be fun. Very Happy
