Post Waste  Reply with quote
We've touched on feminine hygiene, toilets have been mentioned, compost is a reality, but what the hell to do with human, toxic (or similar), or bio waste? We haven't touched it!

So, let's talk about the nitty-gritty, dirty, undesirable, noxious part of waste and waste removal here.

What do we do about feces, and what else do we need to worry about? I'm assuming that we're going to want to go with a "absolute minimal-waste" policy, with the nature of the people in here.

I think we're just going to have to use the sewer system, I can't think it would be possible to use any sort of alternative. :\

now that I think about it, we may not be able to handle all of our trash in a greenhouse, however waste-composting water heating seems like a desirable approach.

Compost all the way. I have a friend who composts using worms, and is a freakin' expert at it.  I'll ask her more about it.  It's very efficient.

Worm composting I don't think will be okay for human refuse.

However, we have a worm-compost bin at the college, and I'll be helping with it as well as the organic garden on campus, so I'll have some hands-on experience about it.
