Well, I had taken a look at the intentional communities link somebody posted a while back and didn't take it too seriously. Turns out, I was wrong to do so. Somewhat affiliated with it are these communes (called intentional communities) that we could learn a lot from. In fact, I'm sincerely interested in interning with Twin Oaks and I can't imagine anything I may desire more than staying at the Emma Goldman Finishing School (if I get along with the current cohabitants). I think we should get in contact with them with hopes of learning, observing, and collaborating.

You guys might want to check them out. There are others, but these two particularly caught my eye.

My girlfriend and I are planning a road trip for next year.  We're going to visit the wiskaway valley commune in southeastern Minnesota and the cob hut in northern Wisconsin from that article I sent everyone.

I found a great deal of forming communes, though there wasn't anything non-Christian in my area that was formed so that's a bummer. I spoke to a guy who apparently is trying to form a commune and has a lot of people ready to join but they can't get land. Maybe he'd be interested in joining us? What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think that'd work as long as there aren't too many people.  I don't think we can sustain more that 20 people unless we get more land.

I found out about a commune in Iowa near Gladbrook (where the land is)  I figure they'd be facing the same challenges we would be.  I think I'll try visiting some time.  It's called the hawk circle co-op  I found out about it at the the intentional community data base.

Also, we're mostly anarchist-atheist (afaik), so it would probably be a bad idea to invite a group of Christians into our midst...
