Sounds like satin and cotton.

By the way, if anybody locates a treadle sewing machine that can be easily obtained, PLEASE obtain it! (those are the manual foot-powered ones)

I could probably convince my mom to give up a few desks and chairs, and I have an "art" desk with a little tiny chair if that helps.

Oh...some suggestions to add to the Wanted/Needed list!

As many fire extinguishers as possible
First aid kits
Basic medicine (antibiotics, headache stuff, etc)

EDIT: Maybe this should be brought up in another thread and it sounds weird but...horses? 26 acres is a long way to walk and we can't drive everywhere...but then that brings up, can we afford to buy even one horse, let alone feed it and take care of it and its medical bills? I seriously doubt it...

Oh my god, I would kill for a horse....

(*is torn between desire for horse and enslavement of sentient life...*)

Added. I'll put together a list of medical supplies specifically for first aid and medicine purposes. Oh, and I'll be making herbs my personal project (personal as in I'm doing it if there are no objects and who's with me?!) for things like poultices, headaches, astringents, etc.

26 acres is not a long way to walk my schools campus is 33 acres and it takes about 10 minutes max to casually stroll across it length wise.

I will be bringing a ton of books.  I'm sure I can bring at least one bed.  I have an antique electric sewing machine and I'll look for some pedal powered ones.

I'm not sure how much acres are in respect to miles but I can barely walk one mile XD I'm trying to get in shape, but we don't want a problem of fatigue because of heat or not being able to get somewhere fast enough (like, if we see smoke on the property, we can't exactly run over there if it's pretty far...)

As for enslavement, I'd be worried about it too but as long as we're respectful and give them plenty of freedom it'd be fair. I keep "pets" but they are pretty much allowed to do their own thing, I would hate having to force a horse to do something...but then that brings up, which is worse, a horse or a car?

Selkie:  bikes.  It may not seem like the best thing when you first think about it, but think: most of the movement will be along the same paths every time.  We won't be walking, or riding horses, through crops, herbs, or exercise areas.  We'll be confined to fairly thin paths throughout the area.  Bikes are a perfectly good option, and they're a hell of a lot cheaper.
