Can we have a completely seperate forum for stuff not really related to the site, but for us to get to know eachother? We already have a few pages but it's not a completely new forum, ie one you see in the index page. That way we can just post something like, "look everyone, this is funny" or "anyone want to join me in..."? etc.

I suppose so, depending on what every one else thinks.  However I'm usually adverse to off-topic sections because they create the illusion of forum activity while causing less to actually get done.

I don't see too much harm in it. We do have a shit-ton of activity amongst the active members, and there are more topics than we can keep track of most of the time (the organization of it is driving me insane, but I haven't figured out a way to make it easier or better without nesting it more, and that makes me want to cry, lol).

However, I think it'd be best to keep it as a single thread for random discussion unless something comes up that will be useful for a specific purpose (like meetups).

It also came to mind for me a while ago: has anybody other than myself in these forums been outside of the house, done any hard manual labor, or been homeless or impoverished? I mean, we are kinda putting ourselves in a situation where labor, poverty, lack of amenities, and physical duress will be the order of the day...

Yes, Yes, Does doing 69 in completely naked in an igloo count as homeless?

Well...I know Will's on some rough times right now, myself when I was younger (up till like, 7 or 9, cant remember) I lived in a very...hrm, whats the word to describe it. Lots of crime, very very poor, all Mexican and black (we were the only white family I think), and we were pretty poor ourselves. So I don't exactly remember any of it so it doesn't really count...

I guess I've always been (upper) middle-class.  But unlike most people, I don't take it for granted.  Money, to me, is just pieces of paper and metal (and, I guess, plastic) that some people go apeshit over.

As for hard manual labour, I've helped build a house, and I've gone canoeing in the BWCA a number of times.

Hmm...interesting update.  I just realized that my ultimate goal in life was (simply Very Happy ) to achieve immortality through the memory of others.  Screw eternal life, screw money, screw mundanity!

Comments?

I'll remember you though I might mistake you for Stickarnagy, a member of a runescape forum I use to run.
