So, based on "the list" what can we make in terms of actual means.  Here's what I've come up with.
baked potatoes
mashed potatoes
potato soup
French fries
Hash browns
Bread
Corn bread
Apple sauce
Jam
Tortillas
tortilla chips
salsa
FISH TACOS!
A lot of salad
A lot of stew

Curried potatoes
Curried vegetables
Potato Pancakes
Cake
Sweetmeats (which are bread)
Baked apples
Apple Pie
Fruit Preserves
Enchilada
Tostada
Torta
Chile Rellano

While thinking about recipes, I just became a STRONG supporter of keeping chickens. We need EGGS!

Also, how do you make tofu??? I have several thai recipes that could use it.

I'm going to make it my personal goal to have 365x3 recipes that we can use by the time we get started. That way we can have a different meal every day for every meal.

Yep, lots and lots of recipes. I'll be a master-cook! Mwahaha!

And chickens don't smell bad unless you keep a lot of them in a confined space, so far as I know. Same goes for any animal, including my rats. We'd keep them free-range.

Hooray!

Let's give them names, and little hats  Razz

Sorry, I guess I'm in a playful mood today. XD

Can we fence them off in a large area so they 1. don't leave our property and 2. don't poop all over our food?

But I am your uncle. My name is Bob. I lost contact with the family at the age of 2 and have been severely depressed for most of my life because of that fact. How dare you deprive me of the Uncle-Right-Of-Command and hurt my insides!

Nooo Sad

Raising animals to eat makes me a sad panda. I hope we hunt 100% of our meat, that way we never have more meat than we want and we have to work for the stuff so we don't forget an animal is dying for it.
