Please read this first.  this is based off of the current 26 acres.  I want to make it clear that what I'm asking is how many people should we let ourselves have eventually.  So please no comments such as; we shouldn't start with a huge group, we can't find that many dedicate follower, or why should we try to cram as many people in as we can.

I guess that I think we should, no matter how much land we have, stick with a small community of <20.  That way, we all know each other.  If, eventually, we have enough land and enough people, I think we should simply cut the land in half and start another community.  That community could grow different foods, produce different goods, and we could start a simple economy, essentially.  Either that, or we return all possible extra land to wetlands.

i'd say 30-50 if that was an option. Once we get up and running we can support them, and do more good to more people, right?

I think that, if we are capable of sustaining x number of people comfortably and with definite excess, we should do so. If we do so, however, I think that we should promote intentionally dividing into separate communities based upon who we get along with best that are no more than 20-30 people in size each. That way, you can be close to your specific community and work effectively together while still having friends outside of the community. Like a micro-nation.

However, with this in mind, I'm casting my vote as absolute maximum. The community itself should be 20-30 or so, in my opinion, and we should expand with focus on multi-communitarian autonomy which would help everybody in the long run. If each community is itself doing x-amount of work and striving toward excess, then we'd have multiple excesses and if somebody fell behind because of bad luck with a crop or something, there would be a buffer. And if there is a person who falls out of grace with their community, they may be able to move to another community and be more accepted or cause less problems, etc.

what are you suggesting? ( i just don't understand is all)
... An organization of multiple communities of 20-30 people each?

What if we do get our hands on more land, but it is not adjacent to ours, in that case an organization of small communes could work well... as a new one would be started on the new property.

Sorry to get off topic... i just kinda thought my interpretation of le Revuer was a good idea

I live lereveurs idea as well.  As I think I've explained several time before I want to use this forum to help organize other communes as well.  That's why I named it commune.myfreeforum.org rather than being specific to ours.

i thought that was just because we didn't have a title yet... but okay.

so the communes are not going to be directly connected, but rather separate ones, helping to start new ones afterwords

oh, um that too.

Anyway yeah, they could be disconnected but if one formed across the street that'd be cool too.

why are we the only two people that are active on this forum. i think the last post that wasn't mine or yours was 2-3 days ago...

In the event that we get an adjacent tract or land, will we expand the one commune to support more people?

We'd probably address that issue with a vote when it arises.  My suggestion would be that we since we likely won't have a waiting list of members we would slowly expand into the new tract of land until we have enough members to spit into two separate communes.
